Teacher-Only iPad Usage Guide: How to Orchestrate in Minutes

Overview

Using students' responses, you can quickly and effectively orchestrate (neriage)!

- We recommend an iPad + Apple Pencil.

- You can learn how to orchestrate each lesson by taking a look at the CTB Samples within the LoiLo TTP Curriculum.

Contents

1. Device Settings

(If a MacBook is connected to a projector) Mirror the iPad screen to the MacBook.

(If an AppleTV is connected to a projector) Mirror the iPad screen to the AppleTV.

2. Take a picture of student responses with the LLN camera function and then paste the photo Card onto the CTB Card.

3. Show and compare responses to help drive discussion by using Essential Question and Key Idea to facilitate students' understanding of the day's math idea and conceptual understanding.

4. Tip: Students can learn from each other if they can use their own devices and submit their own pictures!

Steps

1. Device Settings - How to Mirror iPad Screen to MacBook:

Adjust AirPlay Receiver Settings on MacBook:

Open Settings on MacBook and enable AirPlay Receiver.

- (See end of page for AirPlay Receiver supported devices.)

Toggle the Allow AirPlay for setting to Everyone.

Mirror iPad Screen:

Swipe down from the top-right of the iPad screen to access the Control Center.

Select Screen Mirroring and choose your MacBook’s name to display the iPad screen on the MacBook.

2. Take a picture of student responses with the LLN camera function and paste the picture onto the CTB Card.
